One of the best things that I did for my business was to take my faxing online. There are a lot of options out there for faxing online, and if you don't do your homework you might just miss out on some of the better features. I know that for me I had a fax machine that sat in my office for years. It ran all the time, collecting about 10 junk faxes for all of the business faxes that came through. It was a great day when I finally unplugged that machine and said goodbye to the junk faxes once and for all. Now I get all my incoming faxes in my email box, and can pick and choose which ones that I print out. I can also send a fax online, although I do not always choose to use that option.
A good online fax service will allow you to both send a fax online and receive them. Most online fax services will email you when you have a new fax, but a good service will store the fax in a password protected account so you can access it later. They will also offer you your own personal phone number, and if they do not offer local phone numbers then move on to another service. Sending faxes should be a breeze, simply upload the file or scan in the fax and then send it through either email or by uploading it into your account. It takes some getting used to, but having an online fax service is far to beneficial to both your business or your personal life to ignore.
