Email Marketing - How To Write an Email Sequence

Before I even get into writing an email sequence, let me tell you this: stop procrastinating, and just write the email campaign. You can always tweak it later.

One of the things I see a lot with beginners is that they are so scared to write an email sequence that they put it off for 30 days, 60 days, even 90 days. Then they write one email and want to test it before they write the next one. Then it is 90 days before they write the second one.

Here is what I recommend instead: write 20 emails one afternoon, load them all into your aweber autoresponder, and then over the course of the first 1000 subscribers, study the open rates and the clickthrough rates and then eliminate the emails that are not pulling clicks and opens, and improve the ones that are left.

So how do you do it?

I like to write 4 different kinds of emails: content emails, free gift emails, affiliate emails, and my own product sales emails.

So here is a quick rundown:

Content emails. I write a lot of articles, so I can just take one of my latest articles, copy and paste it into my aweber autoresponder, and then hit send. These are really easy for me.

Free gift emails: I find items I can give away for free and upload them to the email sequence.

Affiliate emails: I write a few lines recommending that the reader click through and take a look at a useful affiliate product.

My own product emails: my favorite! These are emails in which I promote my own products.
